Hyun Sung Park returned from a 17-month layoff to get the first finish of Saturday’s card.
After that, strawweight contenders Denise Gomes and Elise Reed squared off at the UFC APEX.
It was a one-sided affair that ended with a second-round knockout that made MMA fans angry.

Just 20 seconds into round two, Gomes connected with a massive overhand right to score a heavy knockdown.
Reed tried to get back to her feet but took several punches to the face before being dropped as soon as she managed to rise from the floor.
UFC commentator Michael Bisping immediately began screaming ‘She’s done’, but referee Jason Herzog disagreed.
The veteran fight official let Gomes land a ton of nasty ground strikes before finally waving things off.

Those watching at home were quick to voice their displeasure at the Gomes vs Reed stoppage.
“Jason Herzog legit the worst ref in MMA now lmao,” one fan fumed. While another asked: “Did Elise Reed owe Jason Herzog money cause she took about 10 shots too many there?”
“If she dies, she dies. Come on ref,” someone else said.
“Bit of an early stoppage if I’m being completely honest,” a fourth fan joked.
“An awfully late stoppage. Absolutely atrocious,” another X user commented.
“That was a HORRIBLE stoppage. Jason Herzog may have just ended Reed’s career,” a sixth fan wrote.
