‘Dispensable’ Alex Pereira warned that he’s ‘not safe’ from the UFC’s wrath by former MMA champion

The fallout to the alleged hacking of UFC star Alex Pereira’s X account is continuing to stir debate.

The mixed martial arts world was set abuzz recently after a post appeared on Pereira’s social media, lambasting the UFC for apparently offering somebody else a shot at Magomed Ankalaev.

Eyebrows were raised when the post seemingly saw ‘Poatan’ threaten retirement should he not get the treatment he feels he deserves after Pereira saved the UFC on plenty of occasions over the past few years.

But the post was quickly deleted and Pereira claimed it had been put up by a hacker. That explanation was doubted by many who believe the UFC sought to solve the matter behind closed doors.

Should that have been the case, one ex-fighter thinks Pereira needs to be careful not to repeat the move again down the line.

Josh Thomson alerts Alex Pereira to the danger of publicly criticizing the UFC

Former Strikeforce champion and UFC contender Josh Thomson looks to be among those not buying Pereira’s hacked claim.

He reacted to the controversy during an episode of his Weighing In podcast, suggesting Pereira may have posted his frustration on X due to an incorrect feeling of invincibility in the UFC.

“I’ve had conversations with a lot of these fighters’ managers,” Thomson said. “Dude, everybody’s dispensable. No one’s safe these days. Conor [McGregor] is not safe, Alex is not safe; doesn’t matter who you are.

“The sport is now officially bigger than any athlete. If you’re a fighter…you do not have anywhere else that will make you the same amount of money.

“So either start minding your Ps and Qs, start taking all the fights they want, they offer you,” Thomson continued. “They’re not gonna be putting up with your guys’ s—t much.

“You have nowhere to go. Take it or leave it.”

Jiri Prochazka’s unique reason for joining Alex Pereira in turning down UFC title shot

Adding to talk of the former UFC light heavyweight champion’s hacked claim being false was apparent confirmation that another contender was indeed offered to fight Ankalaev.

After Pereira reportedly turned down his title rematch with the Russian for UFC 317 on June 28, his former opponent and fellow ex-champion Jiri Prochazka was asked.

Soon after Ankalaev stated that ‘BJP’, too, had rejected the offer, the reason emerged.

A coach revealed to Sportz.cz that Prochazka declined the Ankalaev fight due to school. The UFC star is evidently focusing on his education and upcoming exams at Masaryk University in his native Czechia.

That marks an example of Prochazka’s less dangerous activities away from MMA. The same can’t be said for his recent dip into icy waters…

Prochazka was most recently in action at UFC 311 in January, where he knocked out Jamahal Hill to keep his name in title contention at 205 pounds.
