Conor McGregor revives UFC comeback talks with weird Dana White demand after retirement admission

Conor McGregor tried to revive comeback talks by sending a public message to the UFC.

‘Notorious’ has been sidelined since suffering a broken leg at UFC 264 in July 2021.

A return bout against Michael Chandler was booked for UFC 303 in June 2024, but it was canceled when Conor McGregor suffered a broken toe in training.

Since then, UFC CEO Dana White has seemed unsure whether the Irishman will ever return to MMA.

Conor McGregor drops major comeback hint

Talk about Conor McGregor’s return to fighting has gone strangely quiet in recent months.

The 36-year-old has barely engaged with the sport that made him a famous multi-millionaire.

However, everything changed when Dana White dropped a slew of fight news on Tuesday evening.

McGregor reacted to Islam Makhachev vacating his UFC title with an ‘exciting’ message to White.

A day later, the former dual-weight champion seemed to get the ball rolling on his comeback.

“@danawhite @tkogrp CALL THAT BIG BUTT NURSE,” McGregor wrote on his Instagram story.

He added: “Let’s get this show started @ufc.”

Conor McGregor previously hinted at retirement

McGregor made a UFC retirement admission in March after turning down a fight offer.

At that point, ‘Mystic Mac’ was more interested in a political run than returning to the UFC.

“I’ve got two fights on the contract, I’m in negotiations,” McGregor said at a BKFC press conference.

“Last week something happened to me, I went to the White House and my heart bleeds for my country right now.

“So there’s a lot of stuff going on back home, I’m happy with what I’ve done. There’s something else for me that’s in my gut right now and that’s kind of where I’m going.”
