Jake Paul books long-awaited boxing return for ex-UFC champ who destroyed Ronda Rousey

After 12 long years in the UFC, Holly Holm is set to return to the boxing ring.

A former world champion in the UFC and the sport of boxing, Holm became a massive free agent following her UFC release in January.

Holly Holm has been a household name in combat sports for the last decade. In 2015, Holm shocked the UFC world when she knocked out the seemingly unbeatable Ronda Rousey at UFC 193, bringing her legendary title reign to an end with a picture-perfect head kick.

After a brief no-fight stint in the GFL, Holm has now attached herself to one of boxing’s biggest stars: Jake Paul.

Holly Holm signs with Most Valuable Promotions, booked to fight on Jake Paul’s undercard

On Wednesday, Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions announced they had signed Holm, who joins the likes of Amanda Serrano on their roster.

Holm, 43, has booked her first post-UFC fight against undefeated boxer Yolanda Vega in a 10-round lightweight bout.

Holm vs. Vega takes place on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 28 from Anaheim, CA.

This will be Holm’s first boxing match since May 2013 where she won a unanimous decision over Mary McGee.

Holly Holm is one of the greatest female fighters of all time

Holm left the boxing ring with an impressive record of 33-2-3 (9 KO’s) and 18 title defenses. She was a three-weight world champion.

During her UFC career, Holm was honored for her accomplishments with an induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2022.

Holm could potentially join her fated rival Ronda Rousey in the UFC Hall of Fame one day as ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ has consistently fought the best bantamweights in the world for a near-decade.

Holm fought all-time great Cris Cyborg for the featherweight title during a time nobody else would and became the first woman to go five rounds with the ‘Grand Slam’ champion.

Holm has two wins over recent champ Raquel Pennington and has fought the WMMA ‘GOAT’ Amanda Nunes, Valentina Shevchenko, Germaine de Randamie and Kayla Harrison—all world champions.
