Jack Della Maddalena fires back at ‘punch drunk’ UFC veteran who believes Belal Muhammad won at UFC 315

Jack Della Maddalena capitalized on his moment in Montreal to earn the biggest win of his career to date.

The exciting striker wasn’t the first name on the list to challenge for the welterweight title but that didn’t matter on May 10 where Della Maddalena defeated Belal Muhammad.

Muhammad’s approach has been criticized after he lost the title in his first defense at UFC 315 but you can’t take credit away from his opponent either.

Della Maddalena clearly put in the work during his preparations to make some significant improvements in his game, which allowed him to keep the fight standing where he excelled.

A UFC fan favorite who recently made a surprising return to the promotion didn’t see the fight going the same way as the judges, and he expressed his viewpoint on social media.

Jack Della Maddalena hits out at Jeremy Stephens after he criticizes UFC 315 scorecards

Jeremy Stephens posted on X, formerly Twitter, where he claimed that Belal Muhammad should have gotten his hand raised at UFC 315 even though he was rooting for Jack Della Maddalena.

‘Lil Heathen’ was also critical of Jose Aldo’s loss to Aiemann Zahabi which was certainly a controversial decision that led to the former champion retiring.

The main event, on the other hand, didn’t appear to have a divisive outcome with the vast majority of media scores reflecting what the judges put down on May 10 with Della Maddalena winning the fight by one or two rounds.

“Belal won that fight. Wanted Maddalena but wow, AGAIN”

Having left the promotion in 2021, going on to fight in the PFL and BKFC, Stephens returned to the Octagon at the start of the month where he faced Mason Jones in front of his hometown crowd in Des Moines, Iowa.

Della Maddalena gave his response to the 51-fight veteran via a post on his Instagram story where he dismissed Stephens’ complaints with a brief insult, making it perfectly clear what he thought of his opinion.

“Old punch drunk Jeremy”

Jack Della Maddalena might be a sneakily brutal trash talker

When Jack Della Maddalena is on the mic, he’s a laid-back character who isn’t too interested in getting involved in drama or trying to create some chaos.

However, this response is another example of the new welterweight champion not being afraid to dish out some insults when the time is right.

Della Maddalena had the MMA world stunned with his scathing remark in regards to Ian Machado Garry at the UFC 315 press conference which he doubled down on after the fight.

We already know that ‘JDM’ is a force to be reckoned with once he steps inside the Octagon but it may not be the best idea to try and test him in vocal warfare either.
