Jack Della Maddalena has given his take on whether Belal Muhammad actually has ‘Canelo hands’.
Last night, at UFC 315, inside the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the Australian produced a tremendous performance to relieve ‘Remember the Name’ of his world championship belt.
Maddalena has gone from getting knocked out in his very first fight, to conquering the sport, with more high-profile wins likely in his future.
In the aftermath of his statement victory, Maddalena discussed a potential showdown with Islam Makhachev, and even more importantly, gave an insight into a myth surrounding the now former 170-pound title holder’s boxing skills.

Jack Della Maddalena says Belal Muhammad does not have ‘Canelo hands’
Ahead of beating Leon Edwards to claim the 170-pound throne, Belal Muhammad’s boxing coach compared his hands to Canelo Alvarez.
This was a somewhat puzzling comment, considering the American-Palestinian is renowned for his grappling rather than his striking.
Throughout the course of his fight with Jack Della Maddalena, Muhammad attempted to showcase his skills on the feet.
However, his opponent’s superior ability in this department was too much for him to handle.
Following the contest, ‘JDM’ was asked to settle whether his foe really has Canelo hands once and for all.
In an interview on the Kariouz Bros YouTube channel, the Aussie said: “No, he didn’t, Canelo is the man, but he didn’t. Props to him, he said he would stand in there, I didn’t think he would, but he did.”
