Belal Muhammad is hopeful of one day overtaking Georges St-Pierre as the greatest welterweight fighter ever in the UFC.
This Saturday at UFC 315, Belal Muhammad looks to successfully defend his welterweight title for the first time when he takes on Jack Della Maddalena in the main event.
Ahead of their clash, Muhammad has continuously claimed that he will showcase his striking to Della Maddalena, offering a bold prediction.
Bizarrely, one strike neither fighter will be able to use is foot stomps, as they have been banned by the Quebec Athletic Commission.

Muhammad bumps into GSP ahead of UFC 315 title defense
‘Remember The Name’ is currently on an 11-fight undefeated streak and a six-fight win streak, slowly putting himself in the conversation as one of the greatest welterweights.
Georges St-Pierre, who is widely regarded as the greatest welterweight of all time, is in attendance at UFC 315 as he will be in the corner of featherweight prospect Aiemann Zahabi who takes on Jose Aldo.
And ahead of the big 170lb fight, Muhammad and GSP were caught in conversation by the UFC embedded cameras.
“Best of luck, man,” St-Pierre told Muhammad as he pretended to body shot the champion.
“You’re the GOAT, I’m in your house, I want to appreciate you and put on a show for you,” Muhammad replied.
“Clearly one of my favorite fighters growing up. A guy I always watched, I used to love his fights, he’s like the nicest guy in the world too, so it’d be cool if I ever get to train and work with him,” Muhammad offered.
“I think it’s gonna be a great show and I think we’re gonna have some of the local guys that are gonna do well, they’re gonna put themselves on the map with a great performance,” St-Pierre continued.
Della Maddalena compared Muhammad to St-Pierre
Despite being considered as one of the greatest of all time, St-Pierre received a lot of criticism towards the backend of his career for his passive fight style.
And ahead of his fight against Muhammad, Della Maddalena compared the champion’s ‘boring fight style’ to that of St-Pierre, not stating it as a compliment.
Following his retirement, St-Pierre has continued training in the sport, looking for ways to improve, and recently revealed that he is ‘100%’ up for a return if it’s in jiu-jitsu.
