UFC 315 will operate under a slightly different rule set on Saturday night.
A welterweight title fight between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena will headline when the UFC brings big-time MMA back to Canada this weekend.
The event taking place in Quebec meant Joe Rogan was replaced on commentary duty by Dominick Cruz.
It will also result in one rarely-seen strike, which doesn’t cause a ton of damage, being bizarrely outlawed during UFC 315.

Foot stomps banned at UFC 315
On Friday, MMA reporter Aaron Bronsteter provided an update about the rules for UFC 315.
It’ll follow the Unified Rules of MMA used for most UFC events, with one small change.
“I’m told that the Quebec Athletic Commission will be utilizing the unified rules of MMA for UFC 315 with one notable exception… Foot stomps will not be permitted,” Bronsteter tweeted.
As confused fight fans flooded his comment section, Bronsteter revealed this is not a new rule change.
He added: “They’ve been banned in Quebec since they have regulated the sport for some reason.”
Belal Muhammad calls KO shot ahead of UFC 315
The strange UFC 315 rule change will have no impact on the main event, according to the 170lb king.
Belal Muhammad has already named the shot he’ll KO Jack Della Maddalena with during a detailed pre-fight prediction.
“Second round, he’s going to come out and shoot a takedown on me,” he told Submission Radio. “I’m going to sprawl, then I’m going to look at him and laugh. Then I’m going to look at DC [Daniel Cormier] and do the Max Holloway, ‘I’m the best boxer in the UFC’.
“Then I’m going to hit him with a couple more hands. Then, he’s not going to know what to do again, so he’s going to shoot another single leg. I’m going to turn, throw him off the fence, hit him with a body shot. He’s going to drop.
“I’m going to look at him, point to him, tell him to stand up. The ref’s going to tell me like, ‘Yo, we need action here’. Then I’m going to faint the jab to the body and go overhand and then he’s going to drop.”
