Israel Adesanya can only see the UFC 315 main event going one way.
Welterweight gold is up for grabs in Saturday night’s headliner between Jack Della Maddalena and defending champion Belal Muhammad in Montreal, Canada.
This marks Muhammad’s first-ever title defense after withdrawing from his fight with Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310 due to injury. ‘Remember The Name’ won the title from Leon Edwards in an impressive performance at UFC 304 last summer and currently rides a 10-fight unbeaten streak.
At 17-2, Della Maddalena’s win streak is even longer than the champ’s but still enters UFC 315 as the betting underdog. The Australian’s coming off his biggest win to date over former title challenger Gilbert Burns—which took place 400+ days ago at UFC 299.
Over the course of five rounds, many predict Muhammad will neutralize Della Maddalena’s superb striking game with his wrestling… not Israel Adesanya, though.

Israel Adesanya picks Jack Della Maddalena to KO Belal Muhammad
Adesanya, the former two-time UFC Middleweight Champion, is convinced Della Maddalena has what it takes to KO Muhammad. That’s no easy feat to replicate as Vicente Luque is the only man to do it back in 2016 and Muhammad’s boxing has only been getting better.
However, JDM is one of the better strikers of the welterweight division and broken arm or not, Della Maddalena finds a way to win.
“F—— Jack Della Maddalena, ‘And New’, baby,” Adesanya predicted the UFC 315 main event on his YouTube channel.
“[By] knockout…
“I believe in them things, man,” Adesanya said of Della Maddalena’s hands.
“Let’s go, Jack.”
12 of Della Maddalena’s 17 wins have ended in knockout.
Israel Adesanya praises Belal Muhammad for being a champion for his people
Win, lose, or draw at UFC 315, Adesanya says Muhammad is a champion regardless.
A native of Chicago, Muhammad proudly represents Palestine, carrying their flag on the world stage as conflicts continue overseas.
Muhammad might not be the most exciting champion or fighter on the roster with an array of decision wins but Adesanya commends him for being an inspiration to so many.
“Respect to Belal,” Adesanya said of the UFC Welterweight Champion.
“I like what he fights for as well. I like the fact that, especially after he won the belt, Belal fights for the people of Palestine because of what’s going on.
“It’s good that they have someone currently to look up to that can champion their cause, and even if Jack wins, I still think Belal is a champion for those people because he fights for them.
“He champions them, and they should hold him in high regard.
“But in this fight, I’m going for Jack Della Maddalena because that’s my boy,” Adesanya explained.
