Daniel Cormier doesn’t believe Alex Pereira was the victim of a hacker.
On Wednesday, the former light heavyweight and middleweight champion’s X account posted a message about a falling out with the UFC bosses, which had apparently left the Brazilian KO artist contemplating retirement.
Alex Pereira quickly quelled fears of a UFC retirement by claiming he was the victim of a hacker.
However, UFC legend Daniel Cormier was one of the many people who didn’t believe his story.

Daniel Cormier shares theory on Alex Pereira hack
Dana White‘s right-hand man recently traveled to Dagestan to discuss Islam Makhachev’s next fight.
Daniel Cormier believes that while there, Hunter Campbell made a call that left Alex Pereira furious.
On a hunch, ‘DC’ boldly claimed, Pereira made up the hacking story after calming down.
“Pereira is a liar. Pereira did not get hacked,” Cormier said on the Good Guy/Bad Guy show he shares with Chael Sonnen.
“Pereira might have tweeted something and then somebody called him like, ‘Yo, calm down, let’s chill.’ I don’t believe the hacked thing, bro. It’s too convenient. It was too specific.
“While Hunter was in Dagestan meeting with Islam and discussing the fight, they still didn’t have a fight locked for International Fight Week. So, Hunter goes, ‘What about you, [Magomed] Ankalaev, are you available?’ Ankalaev is like, ‘I could fight.’
“Then he goes to Pereira and says, ‘Alex, are you available?’ Pereira replies, ‘Well, it’s a short time to get ready.’ Hunter responds, ‘Okay, Alex, we’re gonna give somebody else this title fight.
“Alex gets mad, goes to the internet, puts that out there, and then gets the call going, ‘Hey, man’.
“That’s my thoughts. That’s what happened. I don’t know this as fact, but I know this game enough to put that together and feel pretty confidently to say it on ESPN.”
What’s next for Alex Pereira?
Pereira lost his light heavyweight title to Ankalaev in a unanimous decision defeat at UFC 313 in March.
Dana White immediately talked up a rematch, but there’s been no official announcement about it yet.
Ankalaev jokingly took credit for hacking Pereira as he responded to the controversial tweet.
“It was me. I hacked his account. Don’t worry, Alex. I’m waiting for you,” he wrote on X.
It seems to be just a matter of time before a date and location for Ankalaev vs Pereira 2 is announced.
