UFC legend who fought Jon Jones and Chuck Liddell names opponent who hit him hardest during 58-fight career

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has reflected on his legendary 58-fight MMA run.

At the peak of his career, the 46-year-old knocked out Chuck Liddell to become a UFC champion.

The light heavyweight legend also fought Jon Jones, Wanderlei Silva, Chael Sonnen, Glover Teixeira, Lyoto Machida, Dan Henderson, Mauricio ‘Shogun’, and many other famous fighters during his iconic career.

However, Quinton Jackson says no one hit harder than the man who essentially retired him five years ago.

Rampage Jackson hails Fedor Emelianenko’s power

In December 2019, ‘Rampage’ squared off against heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko.

The Russian superstar, who Joe Rogan recently named the greatest heavyweight ever, was way past his prime by the time he was matched up with Jackson.

Still, Emelianenko made it look easy as he knocked out the ex-UFC star inside three minutes at Bellator 237.

Jackson collapsed face-first to the floor after eating an overhand right from ‘The Last Emperor’.

Rampage hasn’t officially retired, but he hasn’t fought since Emelianenko effectively ended his MMA career with one shot.

Now, the UFC fan favorite has admitted that no one hit him harder than Emelianenko did last time out.

“The hardest puncher, I used to say was Kevin Randleman. RIP,” Jackson told Bloody Elbow’s James Sweetnam.

He added: “But now I have to say it was Fedor.”

Rampage Jackson loved knocking out Wanderlei Silva

Jackson and Silva shared an intense four-fight rivalry that defined both of their careers in MMA.

‘The Axe Murderer’ won their first two fights in PRIDE before Rampage got his revenge at UFC 92.

Jackson landed a left hook to put his nemesis to sleep during a December 2008 card headlined by Rashad Evans vs Forrest Griffin.

Rampage won by KO again when he and Silva met for a fourth time at Bellator 206, but nothing could top the vicious victory he got over the Brazilian almost a decade earlier.

“My favorite knockout was against Wanderlei Silva when I finally knocked him out in the UFC,” Jackson said when asked to name the greatest KO he’d ever scored.

Only time will tell if he’ll return to MMA and try to pick up a few more KOs inside the cage.
