Dricus Du Plessis has shared a positive update regarding his potential title defense against Khamzat Chimaev.
UFC fans are still waiting for the official announcement of Dricus Du Plessis vs Khamzat Chimaev with the two middleweights continuing to go back and forth with each other online.
Recently, UFC boss Dana White offered a positive update on the fight, claiming that ‘it’s done’ but they just haven’t figured out an official date for it yet.
Fans were hopeful that the fight could potentially headline International Fight Week’s UFC 317 at the end of June, however, it is extremely unlikely.

Du Plessis offers timeline for Chimaev title fight
Earlier this week, though, ‘Stillknocks’ offered a positive update regarding the title fight, stating that the fight is a matter of days from being announced.
“We have a potential of two dates. I already agreed to both,” Du Plessis told Sias Du Plessis.
“The announcement will be made soon. It’s gonna be happening in the next couple of months, maximum four months. Nothing’s signed, but I’ve already agreed to any date,” the champion continued.
Initially, rumors surfaced that Du Plessis had suffered a long-term injury which resulted in several middleweights calling for an interim title fight.
Despite that, Du Plessis shutdown the injury rumors, confirming that he is ready to fight and is injury free.
UFC middleweight title fight could take place in America despite concerns
Along with the initial worries regarding a potential injury, fans were unsure whether ‘Borz’ Chimaev could compete in the United States because of previous issues regarding attaining a visa.
However, after Chimaev claimed the rumors are false, Dana White also put the rumors to bed by stating that he has no issues fighting in the United States.
And with that, it opens up several potential dates for Chimaev to finally fight against Du Plessis, with UFC 319 being the next likely date.
