Demetrious Johnson’s emotional moment with street fighter ‘Death Sentence’ after coaching him to first win

Demetrious Johnson shared an emotional moment on the phone with street fighter ‘Death Sentence’ after coaching him to his first win.

The legendary flyweight world champion is widely considered the greatest MMA fighter of all time, winning gold in the UFC and launching a legendary run. He retired last year as ONE FC Champion, and has since made a major name for himself covering bizarre fights on YouTube.

In a new series on his channel, he invited Maraji Johnson – better known by his alias Death Sentence – to train with him for his next Streetbeefs fight. The comical internet personality is known for being completely clueless in the cage, but insisting that he is an elite fighter, and he finally won last weekend.

Unfortunately at the end of their ‘training arc’, Demetrious Johnson was unable to be there at the Streetbeefs Scrapyard in Virginia. The UFC legend was in the UK to film with Tom Aspinall, and had to learn about the fight on a Facetime call.

However, he was delighted to learn that not only did ‘Death Sentence’ win, but he used the grappling they had been working on in part to make his opponent quit. His rival, ‘Illuminate the State’ argued that he was punched to the back of the head, but refused to re-engage once a warning had been given.

Johnson watched from his phone, and got on Facetime with his pal after the fight who excitedly declared he had won. “You are a warrior, young Mr Death,” he told him while stifling a laugh, before which point the brawler claimed he would ‘make it to the UFC’.

“Let’s take baby steps,” Johnson continued. “You took out ‘Death Penalty’, who’s next?” It appears that ‘Death Sentence’ now wants to face somebody called ‘Lights Out’, before listing another series of unintelligible names.

“Congratulations on your first win, all we did was help you out and teach you how to train properly,” Johnson told his friend when he claimed that the victory was all down to his coach. “I can’t wait to see what you’ll do next so you’ve got to stay focused and keep on training and next is July.”

In several videos posted on his YouTube channel, former UFC flyweight king Johnson spent some time training with the a backyard fighting sensation. The pair took part in an episode of his ‘Mightycast’, where the UFC legend made a promise to fans.

He claimed that if the episode got over 250,000 views, he would bring Death Sentence out to train with him for his upcoming fight. The episode got almost three times that and they proceeded to work out together, even engaging in a comical sparring session.
