Colby Covington pulled a middle school-level prank on Belal Muhammad ahead of UFC 315.
UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad will defend his title for the first time at UFC 315 this Saturday in Montreal. Jack Della Maddalena earned the title shot despite a slew of top contenders making strong cases, after an unbeaten run in the Octagon.
Muhammad hasn’t made many friends amongst his welterweight colleagues during his ongoing 11-fight winning streak in the Octagon. He’s had numerous beefs with some of the division’s top stars, including three-time title challenger Colby Covington, despite the two polarizing welterweights never going head-to-head in the cage.
Despite Covington and Muhammad being on opposite trajectories in their UFC careers, that didn’t stop Covington from trolling the welterweight titleholder from afar.

Belal Muhammad reacts to Colby Covington’s latest trolling at the UFC PI
Covington, who has repeatedly taunted Muhammad throughout his rise up the welterweight rankings, has turned into a prominent streamer and content creator in between UFC appearances. During one of his recent streams while filming a workout at the UFC Performance Institute, Covington took food left for Muhammad out of one of the facility fridges and moved it so that the champion couldn’t find it.
It didn’t take long for Muhammad to notice Covington’s troll job.
During his UFC 315 media day press conference, Muhammad reacted to Covington’s latest antics.
“He hid my food? I’m not even in Las Vegas, that’s how much of a moron he is,” Muhammad said of Covington. “I don’t know what he’s doing. These guys are like YouTubers now. Kamaru’s a podcaster, Colby’s a YouTuber.
“They need to do a podcast together, ‘The Biggest Losers’.”
In addition to his back-and-forths with Covington, Muhammad and one of Covington’s most infamous rivals have gotten into it after a podcast episode turned into a chaotic scene.

Belal Muhammad’s bad blood with Colby Covington’s two-time rival reaches boiling point
Muhammad and former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman have traded barbs in person and on social media for months ahead of Usman’s return to the cage. Their feud reached an apparent boiling point during a to-be-released podcast episode that abruptly ended after 10 minutes as Usman and Muhammad got into an altercation.
Ahead of his comeback at UFC Atlanta, Usman admitted he and Muhammad would need security to separate them if they came face-to-face backstage at an event. Usman could potentially earn a title shot with a win over Joaquin Buckley in his welterweight return next month.
Usman was recently critical of Muhammad for refusing to face UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in a potential future super fight. Muhammad and Makhachev are friends and teammates under the tutelage of UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov, whose ‘heart is not okay’ with the two understudies fighting each other.
If Muhammad is victorious this weekend at UFC 315, Makhachev’s planned welterweight move might be further delayed. But in the meantime, Muhammad continues to get into it with Usman, fueling a potential future showdown in the cage.
