Belal Muhammad got viciously knocked out by Vicente Luque
The reigning UFC welterweight King has established his status as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet.
Georges St-Pierre has gone as far as to say that Belal Muhammad is the complete package. But years before the grappler won the title, he was rendered unconscious by Vicente Luque.
On November 12, 2016, at the historic UFC 205 card at Madison Square Garden, the future champion went head-to-head with the Brazilian power puncher.
The pair started cautiously, trading leg kicks, while they awaited the perfect opening.
As the round progressed, Luque began to up the pressure, controlling the center of the octagon, before finding a left hook that sent his rival hurtling toward the canvas.
After landing heavy shots from ground and pound, the referee jumped in.
While the loss was tough to take, Muhammad eventually got his redemption, beating Luque in the rematch via decision in 2022.

Like Belal Muhammad, Maddalena also knows how to bounce back from defeat.
With a desire to test himself, the Aussie jumped in right at the deep end in his first two professional fights.
Unfortunately, the risk didn’t pay off, with the future title challenger losing both bouts.
In his debut, Maddalena was badly knocked out.
