Dillon Danis takes aim at Devin Haney after his incredibly underwhelming return to the ring

Friday night in New York saw the return of Devin Haney but his performance didn’t impress too many critics, including Dillon Danis.

Haney was beaten by Ryan Garcia in shocking fashion in April of last year although the result was overturned to a no contest after a failed drug test.

‘The Dream’ would look to bounce back at Fatal Fury in Times Square on May 2 where Haney and Garcia would share the card alongside Teofimo Lopez.

The two former opponents didn’t too much to excite fans about the prospect of seeing them go head-to-head for a second time following a disappointing night of action.

Dillon Danis, who is known to criticize others whenever he’s given the opportunity, targeted Haney in particular after the 26-year-old cruised to an underwhelming victory.

Dillon Danis mocks Devin Haney after fight with Jose Ramirez enters the running for the worst of 2025

Via several social media posts, Dillon Danis poked fun at Devin Haney’s lacklustre performance in his return to the ring after over a year out.

‘The Dream’ did beat Jose Ramirez by a wide margin, with scorecards of 119-109, 119-109 and 118-110 all in his favor, but neither man landed anything significant.

Following the conclusion of the co-main event, Haney vs Ramirez had emerged as a new candidate for the worst fight of the year.

After both men combined for a total of 503 punches thrown, which put them into the history books as the third lowest total on CompuBox for a 12-round contest, Ryan Garcia and Rolando Romero went on to outdo them with just 490 punches thrown.

At the very least, the main event produced one highlight when Romero dropped Garcia in the second round before going on to produce the upset win but the same couldn’t be said for Haney’s bout.

Danis posted several times to mock the decorated American after he remained undefeated through 33 pro fights.

“Wanna thank Devin Haney for the miracle, my boy been in a wheelchair 34 years he finally got up to turn off the TV”

“Devin Haney really put the city that never sleeps to sleep.”

Dillon Danis criticized boxing as a whole after Fatal Fury in Times Square

Dillon Danis, whose only pro boxing match was a loss to Logan Paul in October of 2023 where he was disqualified in the sixth round, went on to criticize the sport as a whole.

Despite the spectacle of Fatal Fury in Times Square and the names involved, the card ended up being a disappointment which may have killed the hype surrounding a rematch between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia.

“Never want to hear anyone say boxing is more exciting than MMA ever again.”

Danis continued to compare boxing to MMA when he said that the UFC’s bantamweight champion would be able to make quick work of all the competitors that were involved in the biggest matchups of the night.

“Boxing’s a joke when Merab Dvalishvili could run through all 6 guys in the main event back-to-back, no rest, and finish them all in under 30 minutes.”

The controversial 31-year-old doesn’t have a fight announced at this time after his boxing match with KSI and his MMA bout with Tony Ferguson both fell through.
