Paddy Pimblett brutally cut over 31lb in six weeks ahead of UFC 314 before immediately putting it back on

Paddy Pimblett’s weight gains when he’s not competing have been well documented since his UFC arrival.

Despite this, ‘The Baddy’ has continued to look in more impressive physical shape with each outing inside the Octagon as he racks up wins in the lightweight division.

The UFC star shocked fight fans once again after Pimblett revealed a 42lbs gain just one week after the biggest win of his career over Michael Chandler.

Plenty of criticism has come Pimblett’s way for his diet habits over the years but a recent video posted by the Brit showed how dedicated he is during a training camp.

The 30-year-old looked massive when he stepped inside the cage at UFC 314 in Miami but in order to get himself down to the lightweight limit, he took strict precautions.

Paddy Pimblett documents his drastic weight cut ahead of UFC 314 with daily visits to the scales

In a new video on his YouTube channel, titled: ‘How I lost 40lbs For UFC 314’, Paddy Pimblett weighed himself on camera every day of his camp.

The first check shown in the video at seven weeks out from his co-main event contest sees Pimblett clock in at 190 pounds, having already started his calorie-counting diet.

One week on and Pimblett expressed frustration after his weight had only dropped by less than 3 pounds, stating that he’ll have his last cheat meal before getting even stricter.

After slowly dropping closer to the 180 pound mark, his process was slightly disrupted by a quick trip to Las Vegas for the press conference but once he returned, the weight really started to shift.

With two and a half weeks to go, Pimblett stepped on the scale at just under 175 pounds, which had dropped another four pounds by the time of his last sparring session 10 days out.

48 hours left until the weigh-in period and ‘The Baddy’ was happy to be on track with what he has weighed in the past having read 170 pounds on the UFC’s scale.

After his last few training sessions and a water cut that included sitting in the bath and lying down in a blanket of towels, Pimblett’s weight on the night before the official weigh-ins was 157.2, meaning that he’d likely be on weight with no additional cutting once he woke up on the Friday morning.

Both Pimblett and his coach reflected that it was one of his easiest weight cuts in total.

Paddy Pimblett’s physicality was a huge factor against Michael Chandler at UFC 314

Michael Chandler may be towards the end of his career but there’s no denying that he’s still a phenomenal athlete who takes his preparations incredibly seriously.

Whilst Chandler might be the ultimate professional when it comes to his diet and training, Paddy Pimblett had a significant size advantage when both men stepped inside the Octagon.

‘The Baddy’ has continued to develop his skills during his UFC run but his physicality has also been a huge part of the improvements that he has made.

Through his strict dieting with the help of his team, Pimblett has turned into one of the most imposing contenders in the division despite his eating habits after his fights.
