Tom Aspinall highlights undefeated UFC heavyweight with 100% finishing rate as prospect he’s keeping an eye on

Tom Aspinall is an excellent authority on UFC heavyweights.

As he continues to wait for a potential fight with Jon Jones, Aspinall is now the longest reigning interim champion in UFC history.

One of the biggest issues with the ongoing heavyweight title unification saga is that there is a current lack of other credible challenges for the Brit outside of his fellow titleholder.

It has recently been suggested that Aspinall could face Ciryl Gane as ‘Bones’ continues to sit at the top of the division having only defended the belt once since winning it in March of 2023.

The UFC is always on the lookout for exciting additions to the promotion’s most destructive weight class with one name earning some plaudits since his debut earlier this year.

Tom Aspinall names Tallison Teixeira as the heavyweight prospect that is on his radar

In a recent post on Threads, Tom Aspinall asked fans to submit questions for him to answer, with the interim champion taking the time to respond to multiple queries.

One of the questions asked Aspinall to identify the top three heavyweight prospects that are currently signed to the UFC.

In his response, the 32-year-old said: “I like the look of [Tallison] Texeira, [I] just need to see more of him!”

Standing at 6’7”, the towering Brazilian competed on Dana White’s Contender Series last September, where he stopped Arthur Lopes to earn his UFC contract.

After stepping inside the Octagon for the first time at UFC 312, he has made his presence known.

Teixeira fought Justin Tafa in February, putting his man away in just 35 seconds with a big knee to the body and elbow to the face to keep his 100% win and finish rate intact.

The only concern, which Aspinall raised, is that the exciting heavyweight has currently fought for a very short amount of time.

Having never been out of the first-round, it will therefore be interesting to see how he responds to greater adversity down the line.

Tallison Teixeira will reportedly face a top 10 contender and fan favorite in his first main event

Shortly after his impressive debut, it was reported by Laerte Viana that Tallison Teixeira will return in a big spot for the exciting Brazilian.

Viana stated that Teixeira will face the #9-ranked Derrick Lewis in the main event of UFC Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena on July 12 though the UFC is yet to officially announce the matchup.

If this fight does come together, it will pit two devastating knockout artists against one another and whilst Lewis might be towards the end of his career, he’s always going to be incredibly dangerous.

We’re still going to have some questions that need answering about the 8-0 prospect if he does get his hand raised but taking out ‘The Black Beast’ in his second fight will see Teixeira quickly ascend up the heavyweight pecking order.
