Michael Bisping tells former UFC champion to seriously consider retirement if he loses comeback bout

Michael Bisping believes one more loss should end the career of a UFC legend.

‘The Count’ retired after suffering back-to-back stoppage defeats to Georges St-Pierre and Kelvin Gastelum in 2017.

Today, he is one of Dana White‘s go-to commentators, who owns a popular MMA YouTube channel.

Michael Bisping recently used his platform to share some thoughts on the UFC Atlanta main event.

Michael Bisping offers Kamaru Usman retirement advice

Kamaru Usman will end his 18-month layoff in a dangerous fight at State Farm Arena on June 14.

The former UFC welterweight champion is riding a three-fight losing streak into his clash with top contender Joaquin Buckley, who Bisping believes could retire ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ next month.

“If Kamaru Usman loses this fight, will that be the end of his career? I’m not throwing any shade,” the UFC Hall of Famer said.

“I’ve got nothing but the greatest respect and deep admiration for Kamaru Usman. He’s a solid human being, he’s an incredible fighter, he’s been a great ambassador for this sport. However, 37 years old, hasn’t been too active, and then if you lose four in a row, maybe it’s time to think about walking away from the sport.

“As I say, I don’t say that lightly. He’s a great guy, but we know Joaquin Buckley is coming into this one revved up. This is the biggest fight of his career. They always are, by the way. But this one is the big one.

“This one is the final hurdle, this is the one that gets him a title fight, maybe if he’s victorious. He’s only 30 years old.”

Kamaru Usman previews Joaquin Buckley fight

Kamaru Usman quickly broke his silence as news of his eagerly anticipated comeback spread.

The 170lb legend talked up Buckely as he predicted they would put on a show at UFC Atlanta.

“It’s a great fight,” Usman said on the Pound4Pound podcast he shares with Henry Cejudo.

“He’s very aggressive, he’s strong, he’s athletic and I like that. Every now and again, that warrior spirit, you need to exercise it, that’s where we come from, Henry. I’m one of those guys, I put in so much time and effort, you got to feel the fight a little bit.

“You wanna get in there and feel like you got into a fight and I’ve been in a couple where I wasn’t touched and I got out of there, in the back, still adrenaline going, feeling like I need to burn off some energy

“Hopefully, if he does his homework, everything comes together, it’s going to be an incredible fight.”
