Conor McGregor told he has ‘no business’ with Michael Chandler during a scathing rant from a UFC legend

Conor McGregor should not have the opportunity to fight Michael Chandler, according to an MMA icon.

The pair of fierce rivals were scheduled to go to war at UFC 303 on June 30, 2024, until the Irishman pulled out of the contest, citing an injured toe.

However, McGregor and Chandler have recently reignited their feud, with ‘The Notorious’ suggesting that he’d love to fight in a stadium.

But according to a former world title challenger, their long-awaited clash makes little sense.

Chael Sonnen says Conor McGregor should not fight Michael Chandler

While there’s still a level of intrigue regarding Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler, Chael Sonnen is convinced that it’s not as big a fight as the Dubliner might think.

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, he explained why the two-weight UFC world champion doesn’t deserve to share the octagon with ‘Iron’.

‘The American Gangster’ asserted: “[Conor says] ‘I will come back, I have unfinished business with Michael Chandler’ — let me stop you right there. You and Chandler don’t have any business.

“You did a series of The Ultimate Fighter that had ratings so bad, they had to bring in Daniel Cormier and I to try and revive the whole story.

“You want to get a stadium against the same opponent that you had a contract for and didn’t show up.

“I know Michael Chandler, I am friends with Michael Chandler, you have no business with Michael Chandler.”

Conor McGregor pitched two massive name opponents for UFC comeback by Brendan Schaub

While Sonnen certainly isn’t enthusiastic about the idea of McGregor battling it out with Michael Chandler, there could be other options on the table for the trash-talker.

Brendan Schaub would love to watch the legend finally make his eagerly-anticipated comeback.

And with that in mind, the former heavyweight contender knows who he’d like to see the esteemed striker set foot in the cage with.

After evaluating the landscape of the lightweight division, Schaub pitched two UFC superstars as potential Conor McGregor opponents.
