Khabib Nurmagomedov once again found himself seated in the emergency seating on another commercial flight.
Since his shock retirement from the UFC in 2020, Khabib Nurmagomedov has become one of the best coaches in MMA, traveling around the world cornering his teammates.
Of course, his most notable fighter is Islam Makhachev, and he and his team continue to wait for Makhachev’s next fight to be announced, with Khabib naming his ideal opponent.
Ahead of the lightweight champions last UFC title defense at UFC 311 in January, Khabib got involved in an unfortunate situation whilst traveling Los Angeles.

Khabib questions Dana White following flight seating
After boarding his flight to make his way to California to corner Makhachev, Khabib was seated in the emergency exit seating.
But this caused huge controversy as he was subsequently removed from the aircraft after a disagreement with a flight attendant, who claimed he couldn’t speak good enough English to sit in the seat, and claimed Nurmagomedov refused to move seating.
UFC boss Dana White got involved in the controversy, trolling Frontier Airlines by sharing that they are ranked amongst the worst airline companies.
This past Monday, the former UFC lightweight champion questioned Dana White as he was once again seated in emergency exit seating, asking why he keeps getting seated there.
“Why do they always put me in this place, Dana White?” Khabib questioned in a post on his Instagram story.
It is unclear whether the flight Khabib was on was a UFC organised flight, and where the Russian was travelling to.
Who will Islam Makhachev fight next?
Makhachev continues to sit on the sidelines waiting for his next fight, however, he seemingly remains adamant that he will not fight Ilia Topuria next.
Despite that, the fans continue to call for that fight and this past Saturday following UFC Kansas City, White said ‘We’ll see’ when asked whether that is the fight that will happen next.
The only other fight that could make sense for Makhachev, is a title defence against Justin Gaethje, as he has expressed his interest in fighting the former interim champion previously.
