Dillon Danis hits back at ‘fatty’ Eddie Hall after World’s Strongest Man called him out for MMA fight

Dillon Danis has hit back at Eddie Hall after he called him out for an MMA fight despite their monstrous weight disparity.

Controversial former Bellator star Danis has had the year from hell thus far. He has already missed out on fights with KSI and Tony Ferguson due to the cancellation of two headline events on Misfits Boxing and the doomed GFL.

Now, he appears to have an offer of a new opponent in 2017 World’s Strongest Man winner Hall, who just brutalized Mariusz Pudzianowski. The pair have feuded in the past, but a fight could be possible now that their schedules are free.

Dillon Danis reacts to Eddie Hall’s fight callout with crude message

In a post after his vicious 30-second knockout of Mariusz Pudzianowski over the weekend, Eddie Hall named Dillon Danis as the man he would like to fight next. The pair’s last weigh-ins were 334lb and 195lb respectively, while Danis was supposed to weigh in as low as 165lb for Ferguson and 185lb for KSI.

Hall wrote on Instagram: “Dillon Danis Next. Sort it out Misfits. Big Love, The Beast.” Danis saw this post, and opted to reply on his secondary Instagram account TheMadSamurai which is private and has only 134,000 followers relative to his main pages which number in the million.

He simply wrote: “Why is this fatty calling me out?” He might find his answer in his own February interview with Ariel Helwani, whom he told: “It was 100 per cent legit, it was my idea. He’s big and they couldn’t get anybody to sanction it in MMA.

“One of my favorite fights is Nogueira and Bob Sapp or Mark Kerr fighting those guys. I always wanted to know what it would be like fighting someone that big and see if my jiu-jitsu would work – I’m not scared of losing, if you can beat me then beat me.”

Eddie Hall and Dillon Danis have history with fight offers made

The legitimacy of Misfits Boxing and Danis’ story regarding the major freakshow fight being made is disputed. Hall told Helwani a few weeks later that Misfits posted about the fight being unsanctionable before having ever spoken to him about it or making an offer.

“Misfits put that out on Instagram and there were no talks if I’m brutally honest,” Hall explained. “There were no talks whatsoever, or I didn’t know of any talks – there might have been something behind my back.

“But I saw that on Misfits and immediately messaged my contact through there and said ‘you’ve got to make this fight happen now’. I’d love to fight Dillon Danis so that may well happen one day, I probably would have fought him if they’d have given me two weeks’ notice.”
