Beneil Dariush beat Ferreira by unanimous decision six months before he was brutally KO’d by Poirier.
The Louisiana native dropped Ferreira multiple times before closing the show with ground and pound.
Ultimately, Poirier hammered his unconscious opponent through the UFC Octagon floor when the referee failed to immediately intervene after Ferreira’s lights went out.

Dustin Poirier is set to bring his legendary MMA career to an end following one last dance.
Last week, Poirier confirmed his UFC retirement fight opponent after missing out on first-choice.
He’ll face former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway at lightweight for the BMF belt at UFC 318 on July 19.
Poirier already boasts two wins over Holloway, so that’s why he preferred to face Justin Gaethje, whom he has knocked out and been knocked out by during their two-fight series, which will seemingly never be settled with a trilogy.
