Theo Von has posted an emotional tribute to a UFC legend.
Throughout his time in the spotlight, the American has gone from a reality TV superstar and MTV Challenge champion to a bona fide stand-up comedy legend.
The 45-year-old is considered by many to be one of the funniest individuals on the planet. Von even once left Joe Rogan crying with laughter after a particularly amusing exchange.
However, while the superstar is most definitely a humorous character, he also has a more sensitive side, which presented itself in the aftermath of one of his favorite fighter’s last trip to the octagon.

Theo Von praises Anthony Smith with emotional social media post
On Saturday night, Anthony Smith went to war with Mingyang Zhang in front of a raucous crowd at UFC Kansas City. Alas, the contest didn’t go exactly as he’d have hoped.
The Chinese fighter quickly made his presence felt, landing snappy shots on his rival, eventually cutting Smith on the forehead with a fearsome elbow.
Despite the blood trickling down his face, the American bravely fought on, attempting to throw big shots in return. However, it was evident he was in a lot of trouble, shooting for a desperate takedown, which his rival defended before landing elbows on the ground to finish the fight.
In the aftermath, ‘Lionheart’ left his gloves in the cage, calling time on a fantastic career, which Theo Von thoroughly enjoyed watching.
He posted on Instagram: “First UFC fighter I ever met. Waited around after a show of mine nine years ago to say kind things and be supportive. That’s just who he is.
“He is a unique person, and I’m thankful to have been able to cheer him on. These men are warriors. Thank you @lionheartasmith, for letting us be part of your journey.”
