Former UFC star Mike Perry knows a thing or two about getting his nose broken mid-fight.
At UFC Kansas City on Saturday, we saw welterweight Randy Brown score a ‘KO of the year’ contender when he battled the ultra-tough Nicolas Dalby a few fights before the main event between Ian Machado Garry and Carlos Prates.
It was a slug-fest for as long as it lasted with Brown sleeping Dalby with a mean right hook in the second round, marking the first time Dalby’s ever been knocked out in more than 30 fights.
Prior to the finish, Brown dealt major damage to Dalby in round 1 by breaking his nose with a punch, having it snapped back into place between rounds.
Dalby’s badly broken nose gave the UFC world flashbacks of a vintage Mike Perry.

‘Shades of Mike Perry,’ BKFC star gets shoutout on UFC broadcast
A fan-favorite during his time in the UFC, current BKFC star Perry got a shoutout from the UFC broadcast booth during Brown vs. Dalby.
“His nose is twisted to the side,” Brendan Fitzgerald said of Dalby’s horrific injury.
“That is shades of Mike Perry in Uruguay years ago against Vicente Luque.”
“It’s so broken, it’s not bleeding bad,” Paul Felder said with Laura Sanko adding the blood was going to back of Dalby’s throat.
If you thought Dalby’s broken nose was bad, Perry’s broken nose from his 2019 fight with Vicente Luque was much worse.

Luque shattered Perry’s nose with a flying knee in the third round at UFC Uruguay, ‘Platinum’ surviving to see the distance with an outpour of blood and his nose all rearranged in a fight many thought he had won.
Perry lost in a controversial split decision, the visible damage to his nose likely getting Luque the nod from the judges, but Perry’s still respected for his display of heart to this very day.
“Shout out to the @ufc keep mentioning my legendary nose,” Perry wrote on X shortly after Dalby’s fight.
“The king of violence can’t have a regular nose,” one fan wrote of Perry’s broken nose from 2018.
“Man yours is the worst I’ve ever seen,” another fan said.
“When we getting the UFC comeback @PlatinumPerry If ol boy can make it back so can you!” one fan said, referencing how Dalby got back into the UFC years after his release.
“Best nose bust in history. And you took it like a champ’s champ,” another fan wrote on X.
Mike Perry left the UFC in 2021 and is currently undefeated in the BKFC with TKO wins over former UFC champions Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez.
