On November 5, 2022, Mark Hunt went to war with rugby icon turned boxer, Sonny Bill Williams, at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia.
Going into the bout, ‘The Super Samoan’ was a major underdog. Not only was he 48 years of age, but his opponent had compiled a perfect 9-0 record.
Unsurprisingly, the younger man started faster, tagging the former K1 champion with powerful shots.
However, as the fight progressed, the New Zealand international began to tire under Hunt’s unrelenting pressure.
In the fourth round, the ex-UFC star knocked his rival’s gumshield right out of his mouth, before connecting with a left hook that dropped him to the canvas.
Williams bravely rose to his feet, but Hunt quickly pounced, detonating a thunderous right hand on his foe’s jaw, which forced the referee to jump in.
