Jean Silva continues to haunt Bryce Mitchell underneath bizarre social media post

UFC 314 featured a highly anticipated clash between two of the most unique personalities on the roster.

April 12th didn’t end up being a night to remember for Bryce Mitchell after he was submitted by Jean Silva at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

Though he did receive some support both before and after the fight, Mitchell was not a popular figure heading into the matchup whilst his opponent’s stock is rapidly climbing.

Silva was able to perfectly capitalize on the spotlight by attracting a lot of attention in the build-up to fight before he went out there and delivered an incredibly exciting performance.

As for Mitchell, who has since reflected on the fight, it’s back to the drawing board for a reset and that means going to back to his regular daily routines for the time being.

Jean Silva posts multiple GIFs of himself below Bryce Mitchell’s latest Instagram video

In his latest Instagram post, Bryce Mitchell can be seen absolutely wailing at a tree stump with an axe as he whittles it down swing-by-swing.

This isn’t a particularly strange thing for ‘Thugnasty’ to be doing but he does take things up a notch towards the end of the video when he gets to the last few swings.

Mitchell begins to use his foot to hold the wood in place meaning that he comes dangerously close to hacking off a limb at several points.

Given some of his previous accidental mishaps, it’s hard to watch the video without wincing ever so slightly whenever he raises the axe above his head.

One fan summarized this below the video by writing, “Stepping on the wood and swinging the axe towards your foot is the most Bryce Mitchell thing I’ve ever seen.”

Jean Silva, on the other hand, seemingly took great enjoyment from his former opponent’s video as he chimed in with several replies to the post.

Fans are clearly not ready to let Mitchell move on to the next phase of his career with the comments being full of Silva GIFs, two of which were posted by ‘Lord’ himself.

Silva’s third comment, when translated, reads, ‘There’s the morning lololololol.’

The Brazilian’s Fighting Nerds teammate Caio Borralho also chimed in with a response of his own which drew a lot of reactions from other users with 11,138 likes.

“Is easier when the target don’t move right?”

What’s next for Bryce Mitchell?

It’s clear from the fallout of UFC 314 that it is going to take Bryce Mitchell some time to recover from the defeat and that’s not just in terms of the loss itself.

Fans aren’t going to quickly forget their opinions of him and ‘Thugnasty’ isn’t the kind of person who is just going to go away quietly.

Mitchell needs to rebuild but now might not be the best time for it even if he doesn’t care what others think about him.

The best move he could make right now is probably to take some substantial time off to allow the dust to settle before he re-enters the featherweight division to try and get back to winning ways.

Given his track record, it seems more likely that he will continue to be the subject of controversy heading into his fights.
