Colby Covington can often be found stirring things up with other fighters, including his own teammates at several points in his career.
Even recently, Covington shared an exchange with Paddy Pimblett so whilst his career might be wrapping up, he’s not done causing a little ‘Chaos’ from time to time.
However, the former interim welterweight champion is a big supporter of a training partner of his who is the last man to defeat the UFC’s 185-pound titleholder, Dricus du Plessis.
Roberto Soldic recently earned some praise from du Plessis after he returned to the win column with a sickening one-shot knockout in ONE Championship.
Now he’s getting an offer from one of the biggest names in the sport who wants to be his advocate to try and bring him to the Octagon.
Colby Covington offers to be Roberto Soldic’s manager to try and get him to the UFC
When Roberto Soldic left Polish promotion KSW behind in 2022, he had multiple offers on the table before he decided to sign with ONE Championship over the UFC.
Since then, ‘Robocop’ has hit some stumbling blocks in his career having earned his first win in the promotion this past February following a no contest and a TKO loss with long periods of inactivity.
Soldic spent some time working alongside Colby Covington ahead of his long awaited return at ONE 171 where he reminded fans why he’s one of the most exciting strikers in the world.
With 18 of his 21 wins coming by way of knockout, the Croatian is always exciting to watch because he’s a fighter that can close the show in a split second, making him a perfect fit for any promotion in the world.
During a recent clip posted by Covington on his TikTok profile, the American spoke very highly of the last man to defeat Dricus du Plessis (KSW 45 in 2018) as he offered to be his manager so that he can try and get him over to the UFC.
‘Chaos’ went on to say that whilst Soldic is earning a good living to support his family, he believes that the knockout artist will only get the credit he deserves if he competes inside the Octagon.
“I think he is a scary and dangerous guy. That guy is, I don’t think anybody’s gonna beat him right now. We need to get him to the UFC. Honestly, if I need to talk to Hunter Campbell and Dana White, I will. I’ll be Roberto’s manager and I don’t want any money from him, I just want to get him to the UFC so he can showcase that he’s the best fighter in the world because he’s never gonna get that respect over at ONE.
“He could knock out everybody but they’re always going to say, ‘Oh it’s not the level, it’s not UFC.’ UFC is the greatest promotion organization but more importantly, he’s getting paid. He’s making a good life for himself and his family so that’s important.”

Roberto Soldic finally got back on track at ONE 171 after a rough start to life in ONE Championship
Roberto Soldic was one of the hottest free agents in recent years when he left KSW so it was incredibly surprising to see him struggle in ONE Championship.
With closer inspection, the no contest in his first fight wasn’t his fault and whilst he made some significant errors in his second outing against Zebaztian Kadestam, the matchup was always going to be a war.
Soldic hasn’t even been able to fight once a year since signing with ONE but the hopes are that after his highlight reel performance against Saygid Arslanaliev, he can start to rebuild his momentum.
If ‘Robocop’ is able to get back to where he once was, he could quickly become the new face of ONE Championship and one of the most talked about fighters outside of the UFC.
