UFC star became the first fighter ever to win without landing a single strike after devastating injury

Uriah Hall became the first fighter in UFC history to win a fight without landing a single strike when he fought Chris Weidman at UFC 261.

After earning his contract through The Ultimate Fighter, Uriah Hall was once highlighted as a potential problem in the UFC middleweight division because of his incredible striking.

UFC fans were first introduced to his striking capabilities when he scored one of the scariest knockouts of all time during his time on TUF.

Despite that, Hall’s UFC career didn’t turn out as many people expected, despite wins over the likes of Anderson Silva and Gegard Mousasi.

However, ‘Primetime’ Hall did make UFC history in 2021 when he fought former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman at UFC 261.

Uriah Hall made UFC history with win over Chris Weidman

On April 24, 2021, the UFC returned to Jacksonville with a blockbuster UFC 261 card, and in the main event, Kamaru Usman scored a terrifying KO over Jorge Masvidal.

However, it was the fight between Hall and Weidman that unfortunately stole the headlines. Hall and Weidman had met 11 years prior on the regional scene, and the American scored a win over Hall.

Coming into their rematch, Hall was hopeful of putting on an impressive performance, not only to avenge his loss but also to extend his win streak to four in a row.

Just 17 seconds into their fight, ‘The All-American’ went to land a heavy leg kick on Hall, but upon impact, broke his own leg.

Stepping back onto his already broken leg, both Hall and Weidman realized his injury, and the referee quickly jumped in and signalled for medical assistance.

Despite it being an extremely unceremonious win, Hall became the first fighter in the promotion’s history to score a win without landing a single strike.

Another crazy part of the devastating situation was that Weidman had found himself in an extremely similar position just eight years before, when he beat Anderson Silva for a second time after Silva broke his leg during their fight.

Uriah Hall recently lost to Jake Paul’s next opponent

Following his unfortunate win over Weidman, Hall went on to lose two fights in a row against Sean Strickland and Andre Muniz, subsequently being cut from the promotion.

Since then, ‘Primetime’ has entered the world of boxing, where he scored a win over former NFL player Le’Veon Bell.

He then took on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, who is the next opponent of Jake Paul, losing a unanimous decision to him last July.

Hall was then scheduled to take part in GFL 2, however, his fight against Douglas Lima was canceled after the promotion canceled their two debut events due to a lack of investment.
