Tom Aspinall has scored a pre-fight win over Jon Jones as their UFC heavyweight title unification fight could finally be agreed.
Ever since Jon Jones’ title defense against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, fans have called for him to fight Tom Aspinall in a title unification fight.
However, the consensus greatest fighter of all time has seemingly continued to delay the potential fight, claiming he would need six months to prepare for it, resulting in fans calling him a ‘duck’.
Despite that, UFC boss Dana White has continued to reassure the fanbase that the fight will happen, occasionally providing positive updates regarding negotiations.

Tom Aspinall scores small victory over Jon Jones
Earlier this week, Aspinall offered some reassurance of his own, stating that he now knows what’s going on and teased that fight news could be imminent.
Not long after, it was claimed by UFC legend Chael Sonnen that the fight between Jones and Aspinall is officially on and has even been given a date.
Despite not having been given a date up until this point, the Brit has remained in somewhat of a fight camp, attempting to stay ready for their potential clash.
Along with his gruelling sessions, Aspinall has been taking part in some challenges on his YouTube channel, one of which was a grip strength test.
Grip strength tests have become quite popular amongst UFC fighters, and ahead of UFC 314 recently, some of the stars of the card took part in one pre-fight.
Not only that but ahead of his UFC 309 fight, Jones also took part in a grip strength test and shocked fans with his score of 132.8lbs.
Scoring his first victory over Jones, Aspinall ever so slightly one upped him after registering a score of 140.8lbs.
It didn’t end there, though, as the 32-year-old went on to completely bend a metal frying pan in half, showcasing his sheer grip strength.
Jon Jones recently took a dig at Tom Aspinall
Jones has been extremely quiet on social media recently, which is a change from his usual antics online.
Part of the reason for that could be because of the fact that he recently took on a big project, becoming the co-owner of Dirty Boxing Championships, setting up life outside of fighting.
However, he did recently seemingly send a shot online at Aspinall after posting a cryptic tweet on X. From the beginning of Jones and Aspinall’s feud, ‘Bones’ has claimed that the explosive Brit is nothing new that he hasn’t already seen, playing down his skillset.
Fortunately, though, fans could be just months away from finally seeing the super fight take place, as Aspinall looks to take the batton from Jones who is nearing his retirement.
