Dricus du Plessis has broke his silence amid reports that he’s currently nursing an injury.
The UFC middleweight champion was expected to defend his belt against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 317 on June 28.
However, veteran MMA journalist Kevin Iole recently claimed Dricus du Plessis is injured and therefore unable to face ‘Borz’ during the 13th annual International Fight Week.
On Sunday, Chimaev tweeted ‘This guy biggest bulls—’ in a crude four-word reaction to the rumors, prompting a response from the South African superstar.

Dricus du Plessis hits back at Khamzat Chimaev
On Monday, Du Plessis hit back at Chimaev’s viral tweet with screenshots of their recent records.
The 31-year-old seemed intent on proving that it’s his rival who is notorious for pulling out of fights.
Chimaev’s resume shows he’s had fights with Nate Diaz, Paulo Costa, and Robert Whittaker fall through in the past two years, while Du Plessis has turned up for every UFC fight he’s signed on the dotted line for.
“Let’s take a look at the last +-2.5years and tell me who’s bulls—,” the 185lb king captioned his post.
‘DDP’ even took the time to respond to a fan mocking his apparent withdrawal from UFC 317.
One X user commented: “Nice try at a comeback but you spoke too soon when making fun of his pullouts earlier, has karma had its way with you?”
Du Plessis replied: “Question is was the fight signed?”

What now for Khamzat Chimaev?
Chimaev hasn’t fought since pulverizing Whittaker’s jaw with a rear-naked choke at UFC 308 in October.
UFC middleweight contender Caio Borralho seems to be the only fighter who wants to step in for Du Plesiss.
Chimaev has been locked in a social media back-and-forth with Borralho during the past 24 hours.
It’s currently unclear if the UFC will be open to matching the 14-0 Russian against someone else if Du Plessis is injury.
All signs point to the rumor being true, but there’s been no official confirmation from anyone yet.
So, keep your eyes peeled for some form of update from UFC boss Dana White.
