For years, the pair have trained alongside one another, honing their craft, en route to becoming two of the greatest fighters of all time.

Therefore, it came as no major surprise that ‘The Last Stylebender’ was inside the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, USA, for his friend’s greatest night.

Israel Adesanya gives Alexander Volkanovski a lovely nickname after UFC 314

In his career, Israel Adesanya has made a reputation for his trash-talking skills. From Sean Strickland to Robert Whittaker, the Nigerian-born superstar has engaged in many a verbal exchange.

However, while some fans have a perception of the mixed martial artist, Dan Hooker says Adesanya is one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

During his post-UFC 314 interaction with Alexander Volkanovski, the former Glory kickboxer showcased the traits ‘The Hangman’ was talking about.

He approached his newly-crowned pal, and branded him ‘Mr two-time’.

The pair then shared a hug before walking several steps together with their arms wrapped around each other’s shoulders.

As the 145-pound champion walked off to fulfill his media duties, Adesanya shouted: “Make way for the King.”

In the aftermath of his victory, Volkanovski took some time to enjoy his incredible accomplishment.

However, the celebrations didn’t last long, with attention quickly switching to potential future opponents.

And by the sounds of it, the Australian’s return to the cage could come sooner rather than later.

On the same night he won the title, Volkanovski was called out by an undefeated fighter.
