Joe Rogan’s role on UFC 314 broadcast team confirmed as Dustin Poirier lands key position

Joe Rogan will return to the commentary desk at UFC 314 on a star-studded broadcast team for the massive event.

Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes headline a stacked night of action in Miami as the UFC presents arguably their best card of the year. The promotion will also provide a massive host of names on the broadcast team from Rogan to Dustin Poirier and Daniel Cormier.

The co-main event will see Paddy Pimblett and Michael Chandler do battle in a massive lightweight showdown with title implications. Both men have history with Poirier, particularly Chandler who fought him in a bitter grudge fight in 2022.

The broadcast team has been confirmed for UFC 314, with Joe Rogan back on the commentary desk alongside Jon Anik and Daniel Cormier. The comedian and podcaster famously only does United States dates, which means he won’t be sticking around for UFC 315 a month later.

There will be a host of other major names involved throughout the night, with Poirier appearing on the analysis desk alongside Chael Sonnen and Anthony Smith. The pre-fight weigh-in show will also feature Chris Weidman.

A number of stalwarts will remain on the show, with Megan Olivi acting as roving reporter and Brett Okamoto of ESPN acting as the desk host.

Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler are still bitter rivals

Poirier’s analysis will be particular interesting given his relationship with the co-main event. In recent times he has been called out for a retirement fight by Pimblett, but his real long-time feud is with Michael Chandler.

The pair fought in New York back at UFC 281 in a bitter grudge fight which Poirier won by submission after a back-and-forth brawl. Even after such a decisive finish, the Louisana native still has nothing nice to say about his rival, whom he accused of cheating on the night.

Chandler has since insisted that they are friends, even though Poirier isn’t so sure. “We are friends he just hasn’t admitted it yet,” he told Helen Yee after being complimentary. “He doesn’t know we are friends”
