UFC Mexico City features fighters 22-years apart as stars pose for generational photograph

UFC Mexico City on Saturday will see fighters at the opposite ends of their UFC careers compete alongside each other.

Returning to action for the first time since UFC 306 last September, Raul Rosas Jr takes on Vince Morales at UFC Mexico City on Saturday, fighting in front of his home crowd.

With Jon Jones’ record as the youngest ever UFC champion in Rosas Jr’s sights, he is in touching distance of another UFC record, and with a win on Saturday, he will break it.

Also on the card is UFC veteran Vinc Pichel, who takes on Rafa Garcia in a lightweight bout on the prelims, with ‘Gifted’ Garcia looking to bounce back from a loss against Grant Dawson.

22-years separate Rosas Jr and Pichel as the youngest and oldest fighters on the roster

‘El Nino Problema’ signed to the UFC at just 17 years old after earning a contract with a win on Dana White’s Contender Series.

Since then, the Mexican star has shown glimpses of his championship potential and has even become an extremely popular fighter amongst the fans after coining his own catchphrase, ‘Chiwiwis’ which took the UFC by storm.

Despite being five fights into his UFC tenure, the 20-year-old still stands as the youngest fighter on the entire roster.

On the other end of the spectrum is Pichel, who is 11 fights into his UFC tenure, having signed in 2012. The 42-year-old stands as the oldest fighter currently on the UFC roster.

And with that, the two generations of MMA posed for a photograph together, with them both competing alongside each other on the UFC Mexico City event.

Raul Rosas Jr could finish 2025 in the UFC bantamweight rankings

Rosas Jr’s lone UFC loss came against Christian Rodriguez, who has a knack for taking fighters’ undefeated records.

However, since then, he has picked up three impressive victories. And with that, the 20-year-old is hopeful that with a win over Morales on Saturday, he can earn a shot against a ranked bantamweight contender.

The 135lb division has always been considered one of the strongest in the sport, with the top 15 being littered with potential future champions.

‘El Nino Problema’ could find himself ending 2025 with a number next to his name, but it all begins with his fight against Morales on Saturday night.
