Michael Chandler has already planned his post-UFC 314 fight speech, and it involves Conor McGregor despite a recent retirement admission.
At UFC 314 on April 12, Michael Chandler is set for a huge fight against soaring lightweight star Paddy Pimblet, with the two scheduled to clash in the co-main event of what looks to be an incredible event.
Ahead of their scheduled fight, Chandler revealed that he is ‘more than likely’ going to miss the birth of his daughter, having been given the green light by his wife.
Despite his clear dedication to the sport, ‘Iron Mike’ has received relentless criticism from the UFC fanbase over the last few years because of his persistence in hoping that Conor McGregor will return to action to fight him.

Chandler plans McGregor callout despite Irishman’s recent retirement admission
Of course, the two were originally scheduled to fight at UFC 303 following their series on The Ultimate Fighter, but McGregor withdrew from the fight due to a broken toe.
Since then, Chandler has remained hopeful that he and ‘The Notorious’ will fight, even suggesting that he would fight McGregor in bare-knuckle boxing.
And with that, ahead of his fight against ‘The Baddy’ in Miami, Chandler has revealed that he plans on calling out the former UFC double champion if he beats Pimblett.
“I’m going to do my job on April 12, and I’ll call out Conor again. I get made fun of no matter what, I want to see him be a man of his word. If he comes back this year, I’m fighting him,” Chandler said, according to Happy Punch.
“Chandler needs to beat Paddy first and if he does and calls out Conor, he needs released, stuck in the past,” one fan commented.
“Brother, give it a rest,” another fan suggested.
“He is delusional and wasting his time. Conor is done!” a third fan replied.
Conor McGregor’s UFC career all but over following recent admission
The 36-year-old hasn’t fought since 2021 and has seemingly turned his attention to what he believes is a more important matter.
McGregor revealed he will be running for presidency in Ireland, willing to put his fighting career to the side.
During a BKFC press conference this past Thursday, the former UFC double champion dropped a major hint on his future in the UFC, hinting that he likely won’t fight again.
“I’ve got two fights on my contract, I’m in negotiations. There’s a lot of stuff going on back home, I’m happy with what I’ve done, there’s something else for me right now,” McGregor admitted.
Further backing up the fact that ‘The Notorious’ likely won’t fight again under the UFC banner is that, according to the UFC Anti-Doping test database, the Irishman hasn’t registered a test session since last year.
