Leon Edwards long-time rival Jorge Masvidal had some choice words for his old foe after yet another dominant defeat on Saturday night.
The Brit was held down for four rounds before being submitted by Sean Brady at UFC London on Saturday night, losing successive fights for the first time in his career. The fight took place at the same venue where Masvidal and Edwards first had their altercation following a 2019 event.
However, despite their physical altercation the pair were never able to settle the feud in the octagon. As a result, they are still bitter rivals to this day and do not have kind words for one another when asked.
Jorge Masvidal advises Leon Edwards to take MMA break after UFC London defeat
Despite only watching the highlights, fans were keen to hear one man’s opinion as Sean Brady defeated Leon Edwards on Saturday night. Former world title contender and the original BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal never settled his feud with Edwards and was keen to see him taste yet another defeat.
Speaking with Submission Radio, Masvidal even goaded his rival by claiming it’s now time for a hiatus. “Leon probably needs some time away from the sport, I think,” he noted before admitting that he could return quickly in search of a return to winning ways. “Who knows what he’s going to do?”
Masvidal didn’t watch the entire fight, but knew going in that it would be difficult with Edwards’ limited wrestling that he would struggle against Brady. He wasn’t keen to comment too much given he hadn’t watched the bout, but noted that it was a decisive victory for the American.
Leon Edwards still has yet to comment on UFC London defeat
Despite it now being almost a week since his loss, Edwards has yet to make much of a public comment. His brother Fabian has been active on social media as his own fight approaches, and sent a heartfelt message to his older sibling.

But the elder Edwards has remained silent, despite public onslaughts from the likes of Belal Muhammad and even Brady himself. As recently as Monday, the Philadelphia native had taken to social media to make fun of Edwards’ ‘Head shot dead’ catchphrase on his Instagram story.
He shared a photo of his team with the caption: “‘Head shot dead’? Y’all don’t even got guns in London.” He accompanied that with a string of laughing emojis.
