Number two ranked Flyweight Brandon Moreno is set for a homecoming on March 29, as the UFC brings Fight Night to Mexico City.
Moreno became the first Mexican champion UFC history back in 2021 thanks to a submission win over Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 263, and later became a two-time Flyweight champion thanks to another victory of long-term rival Figueirdo at UFC 283.
Having lost the Flyweight Championship to Alexandre Pantoja via a split decision at UFC 290, Moreno is now on the climb back up the rankings and hoping to earn another shot at the title. Standing in his way this weekend is another fighter aiming for a shot at the Flyweight title in Steve Erceg. The Aussie is keen to re-find his best form in Mexico City, having lost his last two fights at UFC 301 and 305 – the former being a decision defeat to champion Pantoja.
Elsewhere on the card, the UFC’s youngest ever signee Raul Rosas Jr is back in action against Vince Morales. The Bantamweight has been thoroughly impressive in recent bouts, winning his last three straight and earning two Performance of the Night accolades.
Here’s everything you need to know about what promises to be a fantastic night of MMA action at UFC Mexico City.

Mexican fighters competing at UFC Mexico City
On the main card, there’s just one bout that does not feature a Mexican fight – Joe Pyfer’s middleweight clash with fellow American Kelvin Gastelum.

Five Mexican fighters will compete elsewhere on the main card with Moreno to headline, Manuel Torres set to face Drew Dober in what promises to be a closely contested battle, Rosas Jr expected to comfortably beat Vince Morales to continue his recent form, David Martinez to go toe-to-toe with Saimon Oliveira, and Ronaldo Rodriguez to face Kevin Borjas at flyweight.
Moreno has fought at three previous UFC events in Mexico, but has a far from glowing record in his home nation. The former lightweight champion Moreno lost last year in Mexico City to Brandon Royval, drew with Askar Askarov in 2019, and lost to Sergio Pettis way back in 2017.
