Nick Diaz fans celebrate ‘great news’ after six-word update on UFC legend

Nick Diaz is ‘healthy and doing good’, according to his long-time coach, Cesar Gracie.

Nate Diaz‘s older brother was supposed to make an eagerly anticipated MMA comeback at UFC 310 in December, but he withdrew from his fight with Vicente Luque, who ultimately choked out replacement opponent Themba Gorimbo during the final UFC pay-per-view of 2024.

Just days after his fight with Luque was scrapped, worrying footage went viral showing Nick Diaz attempting to light a piece of grass on fire. It led to widespread concern about the iconic fighter’s mental and physical well-being.

In January, Jake Shields provided an update about the UFC legend. The 46-fight MMA veteran refused to divulge details about Diaz’s personal life, but he did reassure fans that things are looking up for his long-time friend.

Cesar Gracie provides positive update on Nick Diaz

On Monday, the renowned MMA and BJJ coach shared a picture of his star pupil on social media.

Gracie added a six-word caption that delighted fans, who have been waiting for another update.

“Nick is healthy and doing good,” he wrote alongside what appears to be a recent picture of Diaz.

Gracie’s post quickly racked up thousands of likes and hundreds of comments from delighted fans.

“That’s good to hear,” one person tweeted. While another added: “Great news. What an absolute legend in the fight game.”

“Glad to hear that,” a third fan commented.

“Makes me genuinely happy to see this. Nick Diaz Army Forever,” someone else said.

“Nick one my favorite fighters glad he’s doing well,” this fan wrote.

“That’s fantastic news,” a sixth fan proclaimed.

Joe Rogan claims Nick Diaz ‘changed the game’

Joe Rogan often talks about the world’s best fighters on his wildly popular podcast.

In 2020, he explained how Diaz ‘changed the game’ at the peak of his legendary career.

“Nick Diaz changed the game, in terms of his elite cardio,” Rogan told ex-UFC star Josh Thomson.

“He did something that was a new thing, and that new thing was, he’s not going to hit you with 100 percent power, he’s gonna hit you with 50 percent. But he’s gonna hit you twice as much and you’re never going to get to breathe.

“He’s going to stay on top of you, and he’s going to talk to you the whole time. So, he’s going to f— with you psychologically, he’s going to disrupt your breathing by constantly hitting you. Once he realizes you’re hurt, then he’s digging to the body, then he’s putting it on you.”
