‘Hit the pub’… Jake Paul issues brutal response to Tommy Fury’s ‘daddy’ reminder

Jake Paul answered Tommy Fury’s viral callout after mocking his Anthony Joshua fight teases.

Jake Paul‘s lone professional boxing defeat came courtesy of Tommy Fury in 2023. Two years after they settled months of bad blood inside the boxing ring, tensions between Paul and Fury remain high.

Fury was supposed to return to the ring earlier this year against former UFC star Darren Till before withdrawing just weeks before the event. He cited Till’s hints at potentially throwing a kick during their boxing match as the primary reason for withdrawing from the fight.

After Fury’s withdrawal, and amidst Paul’s ongoing hiatus from boxing, talks of a rematch between Fury and Paul have ramped up in recent weeks. But after Paul called out heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua for a fight, Fury didn’t take long to mock Paul’s callout.

Jake Paul reignites Tommy Fury feud with scathing message to former rival

Paul has repeatedly teased a potential showdown with Joshua for his next boxing match, and there’s mutual interest from Joshua’s side. Paul is targeting a return to the ring sometime this summer against a to-be-determined opponent, making the Joshua fight a potential option.

Fury blasted Paul as a ‘bum’ in a recent social media post in response to the Joshua callouts. He labeled himself as Paul’s ‘daddy’ after defeating him by split decision in Feb. 2023.

In a recent post to X, Paul responded to Fury’s jabs.

“Tommy Fumbles Fury…the ship has sailed mate,” Paul replied. “I’m trying to build the sport. You are trying to make a payday and hit the pub.

“No judgment. We are just different.”

Fury hasn’t issued further responses to Paul, and as of this writing, he remains unbooked for his return to the ring. A rematch between Paul and Fury is an option for both parties after their initial fight contract included a rematch clause.

Heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk is open to fighting Jake Paul

Paul has plenty of options for his return to boxing, including a potential showdown with Joshua if his team and Matchroom Boxing can come to terms. But in recent days, another top name has popped up on Paul’s radar: Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk and his team are interested in facing Paul in an MMA fight at a later date. Usyk, who is fresh off of back-to-back wins over Tyson Fury, has no prior MMA experience.

Paul has repeatedly teased a full-time transition to MMA with the PFL, after signing a deal with the league in 2023. While Paul could potentially debut in MMA by year’s end, it’s becoming increasingly unlikely amidst numerous boxing fight teases.
