Nick and Nate Diaz called out by controversial former interim champion for UFC returns

Colby Covington remains one of the most controversial and outspoken fighters on the UFC roster, and he is sensationally targeting Nick and Nate Diaz for a return to action.

After losing in his third attempt to become the undisputed UFC welterweight champion, Colby Covington tried to remain in title contention last December when he took on Joaquin Buckley.

The subsequent performance showcased by ‘Chaos’ was one of disappointment after Buckley butchered him on the way to a doctor stoppage win.

Since then, Covington has attempted to remain in the headlines and was even drafted in by UFC legend Chael Sonnen for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.

Colby Covington calls out Nick and Nate Diaz for UFC returns

With the end of ‘Chaos’ UFC career seemingly right around the corner, he has continued with his controversial nature in the media.

Ahead of his potential comeback to action, the wrestler is targeting huge fights against either Nick Diaz or Nate Diaz.

Nick hasn’t fought in the promotion since 2021, when he was brutally beaten by Robbie Lawler. Since then, he has been scheduled to return twice against Vicente Luque, but personal issues have kept him out of action.

Nate, on the other hand, last fought in the promotion in 2022, when he submitted Tony Ferguson in his farewell fight.

“(I want to fight) one of the Diaz brothers, you know, they’re big names, legends of the game, so they draw attention, they sell PPVs, and they get people excited for their fights. I want to fight legends,” Covington told Submission Radio.

Covington threatens to slap UFC commentator Paul Felder

Covington also threatened a member of the UFC commentary team and former UFC fighter, Paul Felder.

This isn’t the first instance in which Covington has threatened a UFC commentator, as in 2023, he also threatened UFC mainstay Jon Anik.

“You know, if Paul Felder keeps running his mouth from the commentary booth, he’s gonna get slapped as well. He was talking s— about me, he was saying some s— like, ‘He’s done’ and some other s—.

“Ask him the next time you see him; ask him about the time we were at Joint Base Langley Eustis, the Army and Airforce base, and he got tied in handcuffs by military police to a toilet in his bathroom because he was drunk at the base.

“That’s embarrassing, you self-loathing drunk a——, he must be drunk half the time he’s in the commentary booth for the UFC… They need some new commentators, and what better man? I could be the UFC commentator,” he continued.
