Sean Brady rips apart Ian Machado Garry over angry remarks about not getting UFC 315 title shot

UFC welterweight contender Sean Brady didn’t hold back on Ian Machado Garry after UFC London.

Sean Brady earned himself a likely welterweight title shot with his dominant win over Leon Edwards at UFC London last Saturday. He stunningly submitted Edwards to cement himself as one of the top options for the Belal Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalena winner.

Brady is on top of the world after securing the biggest win of his career and has dramatically improved since falling to Muhammad at UFC 280. Almost three full years after Brady faced off with Muhammad in their first fight, he’s on the verge of securing a rematch if Muhammad gets past Maddalena at UFC 315.

But as the UFC 315 main event news broke, one of Brady’s recent callout targets wasn’t happy after expecting a call to face Muhammad on the Montreal pay-per-view.

Sean Brady slams Ian Machado Garry’s frustration over UFC 315 title shot

Brady’s welterweight colleague, Ian Machado Garry, recently expressed anger when asked about when he wants to return to the Octagon. Garry revealed he expected the UFC matchmakers to give him a call to fill against Muhammad at UFC 315 after Shavkat Rakhmonov‘s injury complicated the next title fight booking.

Garry’s comments came despite a loss in his most recent fight to Rakhmonov at UFC 310. After calling out Garry following a win over Gilbert Burns last year, it didn’t take long for Brady to respond to Garry’s head-scratching remarks.

In a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Brady scorched Garry over his recent comments about the upcoming welterweight title fight.

“I went out there, took this opportunity…I heard he was b—–ing that he didn’t get the fight with Belal!” Brady said. “Bro, you lost your fight! What are you talking about? You came in second place, you don’t get to be rewarded for that. It made the most sense for it to be Jack…

“He’s number seven at this point? Lost his last fight. I’ve won my last three, just beat a former champion who [was] a really good champion. I’ve got bigger things going on than Ian Machado Garry.”

If Garry got the call to face Muhammad at UFC 315, it would’ve been one of the few times in UFC history that a fighter got a title shot despite a loss in their most recent fight. Nick Diaz got a title shot against Georges St-Pierre despite a controversial defeat to Carlos Condit in his last outing.

Sean Brady trolled Leon Edwards with ‘headshot dead’ imitation after UFC London

Tensions between Brady and Edwards didn’t dissipate after UFC London. Brady trolled Edwards in a post-fight social media post, mocking Edwards’s ‘headshot dead’ pose and catchphrase.

As of this writing, Edwards hasn’t issued a public statement on his loss at UFC London. For the first time in his MMA career, Edwards has lost back-to-back fights, after losing the belt to Muhammad at UFC 304 last July.

Brady’s win led many UFC London spectators to boo and leave The O2 Arena midway through the fight. Another top welterweight contender, Joaquin Buckley, also called out Brady following his win.

In the meantime, Brady is on fire in the UFC welterweight division and is knocking on the door of potentially securing a world championship.
