Joe Rogan names ‘overlooked GOAT’ as he expresses concern about the UFC heavyweight division

Joe Rogan has added an ‘overlooked’ legend’s name to the heavyweight GOAT debate.

The UFC commentator and popular podcaster recently called Fedor Emelianenko the best big man in MMA history, despite the fact he never fought in the UFC.

Cain Velasquez and Stipe Miocic are two other fighters who are most commonly suggested as alternatives to Joe Rogan’s popular suggestion for heavyweight GOAT.

The 57-year-old MMA icon threw another name into the mix during UFC London on Saturday night.

Joe Rogan names ‘overlooked GOAT heavyweight’

Rogan watched the card with Craig Jones, Brendan Schaub, and Eddie Bravo for a podcast.

It was an event that was so poor that many fans were seen leaving midway through the main event between Leon Edwards and Sean Brady.

So, most of the time, Rogan’s ‘Fight Companion’ crew talked about anything and everything else.

The topic of the ‘most dangerous guards’ in MMA came up, which led to former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum, who is a submission specialist, being thrown into the mix by Rogan.

“Fabricio is one,” he said before going on to pay the Brazilian a massive compliment.

Rogan added: “Fabricio Werdum is the overlooked GOAT heavyweight.”

Joe Rogan is worried about the UFC heavyweight division

A massive heavyweight unification clash between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall is in the works.

UFC boss Dana White recently claimed the fight is ‘done’ but not done enough for an official announcement.

It’s the biggest matchup that can be made in 2025, but Rogan is concerned about the heavyweight division, which he recently branded ‘shallow’.

“There’s one fight, after that, they’ve gotta scour,” Rogan said before wishfully predicting Francis Ngannou‘s return to the UFC.

He added: “You get Francis to come back with the Saudis.

“‘Come along. Come on, come on, come on’. The Saudis come along with that big bag.”
