Joe Rogan explains real reason he will skip massive UFC 315 world title double header

Joe Rogan has revealed why he chooses not to go to certain events, including Belal Muhammad’s first world title fight at UFC 315.

Rogan is the voice of the octagon, but now only makes appearance on pay-per-view events in America, most recently stepping out for UFC 313 in Las Vegas. He will be a part of the UFC 314 broadcast from Miami next month, but has confirmed his absence from UFC 315 a month later.

This will mark another one of Muhammad’s big fights that he will miss after being away from UFC 304 in Manchester last year as well.

Joe Rogan will miss UFC 315 in Montreal because he ‘doesn’t go to Canada’

During his podcast Fight Companion for UFC London on Saturday night, Joe Rogan noted that he won’t be attending the UFC 315 world title double header. He told co-hosts Gordon Ryan, Brendan Schaub and Eddie Bravo that the reason is his unwillingness to travel to Canada.

While it’s common knowledge that Rogan doesn’t go to international events, it wasn’t clear if Canada fell into that same region. However, speaking with his pals, he said of the show: “I will not be there, I don’t go to Canada any more, I don’t.”

When Schaub joked ‘nor should you,’ Rogan replied that he would “rather go to Russia,” leading to laughter throughout the studio. He also told a story of a meeting with President Donald Trump where he claimed he has started referring to the former Prime Minister Justin Trudaeu as ‘Governor Trudeau’.

Joe Rogan stopped covering international events years ago

It’s been widely known for years that Joe Rogan doesn’t cover international UFC pay-per-views due to his disinterest in travelling. He rarely even does stand-up comedy tours around America any more, and prefers his compound in Austin, Texas to watch fights.

“He doesn’t want to travel anymore,” Michael Bisping explained during an appearance on the Jaxxon Podcast. “So he only does pay-per-views and then if it’s like in Australia [such as UFC 312] I’ll be doing that one.

“But then they mix it up between me, Dominick Cruz and Paul Felder because we all want to do the pay-per-views because you know but they’ve got their team set. They’ve got Joe Rogan, Jon Anik, and Daniel Cormier. You know what I mean if one of those can’t make it then they kick it down to the B-team.”
