Leon Edwards’ brother breaks silence with five-word statement after Sean Brady’s UFC London beatdown

Leon Edwards still has the support of his family after losing by stoppage for the first time in his UFC career.

The Birmingham native was completely dominated for four rounds before being submitted by Sean Brady at UFC London on Saturday night. After losing his belt to Belal Muhammad last summer, it was believed that a win in his home country would be enough to get him another shot at gold.

However, Brady showed off impressive grappling and wore down the former champion in a gruelling fight that saw fans heading for the exits early. Edwards has been quiet since the fight, but his brother; two-time Bellator title contender and PFL star Fabian Edwards has opened up on Instagram stories.

After the fight, Leon Edwards has opted not to make any public comment as he takes in the defeat privately. However, his brother Fabian has shared a brief message to his Instagram story showing support for his older sibling.

Fabian understands the pressures of headlining major events in his own right, and has tasted defeat on the big stage. He has twice fought for Bellator gold against Johnny Eblen, and has always been cornered by his brother.

The younger Edwards posted a photo of he and his brother to his Instagram stories, and wrote in the caption: “Always be in your corner.”

Sean Brady has not been humble in victory after Leon Edwards win

There was clear bad blood heading into Saturday’s UFC London main event, with Brady and Edwards refusing to even touch gloves before the first round. After the American got the win, it didn’t seem to smooth over at all as they remained icy towards one another.

“I dominated Leon, won every round,” Brady said in an explosive post-fight press conference where he also took aim at Belal Muhammad in an effort to earn a rematch with the champion. “Nobody’s ever did it like me

“And then I submitted him and made him quit in front of his home town. If we were in Philly you ain’t making me quit in front of my home town I’m telling you that. I’m going to sleep, son. So just remember that.”
