‘Just mute Bisping’… UFC London fighter who won razor-close decision offers solution to scoring controversy

Caolan Loughran isn’t too pleased with the controversy surrounding his UFC London fight against Nathan Fletcher.

On Saturday night at the O2 arena in London, Caolan Loughran took on Paddy Pimblett‘s teammate, Nathan Fletcher, in a grudge match years in the making.

Fletcher holds a win over the Irishman from their days in the amateur’s and ever since, the two have been involved in a feud, especially considering they train at rival gyms in Liverpool.

However, their UFC London fight is covered in controversy after Loughran was awarded the decision win, much to the disgust of Pimblett and a lot of the UFC fanbase.

Caolan Loughran implores fans mute Michael Bisping and rewatch UFC London fight

The first round between the bantamweights was a close one with ‘The Don’ doing enough to score the round on the majority of scorecards.

Round two was a clear round for Fletcher who came close to a finish on several occasions. The final round, though, was the one that divided opinion as Loughran likely did enough to edge it for the majority but then Fletcher poured it on late in the round, again coming close to a finish.

On the call for the fight were John Gooden, Michael Bisping, and Paul Felder. Just a day removed from his fight, Loughran took to social media to break his silence following the win, suggesting that fans rewatch the fight and mute Bisping’s commentary.

“2-1 Don. Very easy fight to score. Just mute Bisping,” Loughran said in a post on X.

Caolan Loughran saved his UFC career with UFC London win

Considering their history, the win must’ve been an extremely sweet one for ‘The Don’ after he once clashed with Paddy ‘The Baddy’ on a coach after the two argued about Fletcher.

Not only would the win have satisfied Loughran because of the feud between the two but because it has likely saved his career in the UFC.

Since joining the promotion, the 28-year-old was 1-2, and having likely only signed a four-fight deal, his future leaned on winning on Saturday.
