Joe Rogan was baffled that KSI pulled out of a fight with Dillon Danis next week due to a dubious illness.
YouTube star and boxer KSI was due to face Conor McGregor teammate Danis on March 29, but postponed the entire event including a stacked undercard on Friday night. The Brit has competed in boxing since 2018, while his opponent is a jiu-jitsu black belt with just one ring outing to his name.
Rogan was taking part in a Fight Companion for UFC London last night when the topic of KSI vs Danis came up in the context of the black belt’s upcoming MMA fight with Tony Ferguson. And he seemed baffled that despite having such a boxing advantage that KSI would pull out over being sick.

While chatting with Brendan Schaub and Danis’ greatest foe Gordon Ryan, Joe Rogan was made aware that KSI had pulled out of his fight with Dillon Danis due to illness. He seemed initially baffled, noting that he is believed to be such a superior boxer that he should have been able to win even at limited capacity.
“How does KSI pull out against Dillon Danis?” He asked. “Dillon’s not a boxer, KSI is a pretty good boxer. He’s legit, for those kind of guys he’s a good boxer. Did he fight Tommy Fury or was he going to? KSI looks legit to me – he’s got hands.
“But Dillon is not a boxer, so it’s crazy because you would think he would need to be not even at his best to take that fight.”
However, Rogan watched KSI’s video statement, where Schaub joked that you “know it’s real” due to the YouTuber wearing a breathing strip on his nose. Rogan then changed his tune, adding: “OK, he’s sick, it sounds legit.”
Dillon Danis mercilessly trolls KSI for pulling out of grudge fight
After the pullout, which Misfits Boxing insist is just a postponement, Danis has been ruthless with his social media efforts to troll his rival. He was quite brutally mocked for skipping their initially planned bout in January of 2023, and finally got his verbal revenge over this weekend.
When KSI replied that the fight was simply postponed, Danis wrote: “Olajide, you pulled out. Ended the whole event. Little league baseball games get postponed, not multi-million dollar fight cards.” He may have a point as he is already set to fight UFC legend Tony Ferguson at the end of May.
He also called on Logan Paul to save the event and have a rematch of their farcical 2023 bout. “I feel bad for every fighter on the card and the fans who bought tickets,” Danis wrote. “Logan Paul, step up for your boyfriend who pulled out with the sniffles and let’s save the show, and everyone’s time and money.
