Jon Jones leads X-rated chant about Tom Aspinall during first day in new job with UFC rival

Jon Jones was over the moon when a crowd in Miami, Florida unexpectedly began chanting an expletive-laced tune toward his latest UFC rival.

Jon Jones claims that he will need six months to train for the English juggernaut, although that hasn’t stopped ‘Bones’ from adding yet more fuel to that already-intense fire.

Jones has been roasted in recent weeks over the delay to the heavyweight title unification bout, yet the consensus UFC GOAT still has a large contingent of loyal and boisterous fans… As was evident last night in Miami.

Jon Jones leads X-rated chant at Tom Aspinall amid title fight update

During an appearance at the ‘Dirty Boxing Championship 1’ weigh-ins, Jon Jones whipped up the crowd into a frenzy; even starting an X-rated chant aimed at his UFC heavyweight rival.

“F— Tom Aspinall, f— Tom Aspinall,” recited the Floridian crowd, with Jones clapping along to the chant and even bowing to the audience as he laughed: “I love you guys.”

The war of words between Jones and Aspinall has been dominating the MMA headlines of late, but when will the two juggernauts actually lock horns inside the UFC octagon?

Well, ahead of UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs Brady, Dana White sat down with TNT Sports’ Adam Catterall and offered a brief update on the heavyweight unification fight against Aspinall.

“I’ll tell you what I’ve been telling you since day one; the fight’s going to happen…It’s just a matter of when now, and getting it signed and done.

“The fight will happen. It’s gonna happen. It’s done, but it’s not done enough to sit right here now and announce it and give you a date – but the fight is going to happen… There’s no logistics. It’s just a matter of getting it signed.”

Previously, White teased that Jones’ return would arrive this Summer.

Jon Jones joins Mike Perry as co-owner of Dirty Boxing Championship

Jon Jones was present at the event as he’s now officially joined former UFC fighter Mike Perry as a fellow co-owner of the rising Dirty Boxing Championship promotion.

In a statement shared by ‘DBX’ via TMZ, ‘Bones’ acknowledged that he was “hooked from the first show,” – a private showcase that took place back in November, for which Jon Jones was in attendance.

“I believe this is going to be a powerhouse of combat sports,” continued the two-weight UFC world champion, adding “I’m proud to sign my name next to it.”

Dirty Boxing Championship’s next event is scheduled for Saturday, March 22 and will be available to stream worldwide live and for free on the promotion’s YouTube channel.

The card is set to be headlined by former UFC middleweight Yoel Romero vs Ras Hylton, with former champion Andrei Arlovski also set to compete in the co-main event of the evening.
