Michael Chandler is set to miss an extremely significant family event when he takes on Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314.
Paddy Pimblett is set for the toughest test of his career thus far when he takes on Michael Chandler in the co-main event of UFC 314 on April 12.
Despite there being a lot leaning on their lightweight clash, the fight between Pimblett and Chandler has been criticized by not only fans but also by lightweight number one contender, Arman Tsarukyan.
And with the fight having received its critics, Pimblett doesn’t think he’ll receive any credit if he beats ‘Iron’ Mike in their clash in Miami.

Michael Chandler ‘more than likely’ to miss the birth of his daughter for UFC 314
Chandler is undoubtedly the hardest hitter ‘The Baddy’ has fought so far in his MMA career and with that, Chandler has been begged to not score a knockout by fellow UFC 314 star, Carlos Prates.
Despite Chandler’s clear knockout capabilities and the Scouser continuing to receive criticism for his striking defense, Pimblett is ‘100% sure’ his chin won’t be cracked.
Ahead of their huge fight, the 38-year-old American has shockingly revealed that he is ‘more than likely’ going to miss the birth of his daughter, with him and his wife expecting on March 31.
“I have a daughter being born March 31, which is very, very interesting,” Chandler told Covers.
“It still remains to be seen if I’m gonna be able to make it to her birth because it’s 12 days before the fight… I think at this time, at this point, it’s more than likely (I’ll miss the birth). It’s one of those things where I’m laser-focused and I’ve got the most supportive wife on the planet… So I’ve got her blessing,” Chandler continued.
Michael Chandler reacts to Conor McGregor’s White House appearance
Chandler will always find himself linked to UFC superstar, Conor McGregor after the two were booked to fight each other at UFC 303.
Of course, that fight never came to fruition and the Irishman has yet to return to the Octagon since 2021, leaving both ‘Iron’ Mike and the fans wondering if he’ll ever return.
Earlier this week, McGregor attended the White House for a meeting with Donald Trump, which broke the internet.
Reacting to the bizarre meeting, Chandler joked that we may get ‘President McGregor’ before we get ‘Chandler vs McGregor’.
“We might get President McGregor before we get Chandler vs McGregor. If that happens, I don’t think he’s going to fight at all. I think Conor would love that position of power. He would love that position of celebrity. It’s a new mountain that he can climb, and if he does it’ll be very interesting,” Chandler stated.
