Fortunately for Leon Edwards, he doesn’t have to fight at 5AM this weekend. However, there were more annoying games to play at media day on Thursday.
London, England is where the former UFC Welterweight Champion Leon Edwards will headline again after losing his title to Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 over the summer: a fight he desperately wants to get back.
12-1 (1 NC) in his last 13 fights, Birmingham-native Edwards will look to seize the next title shot against #5-ranked welterweight contender Sean Brady from the O2 Arena, walking out to the Octagon at a reasonable time.
Edwards would speak on the upcoming matchup with Brady and his intentions to rematch Muhammad for the title before he was shockingly interrupted by an alarm that had the former champ going, ‘WTF?’

Alarms cut off Leon Edwards at UFC London media day
“Attention please. This is a test of the emergency automatic fire alarm,” the intercom said as Edwards burst out laughing.
“Please take no action…”
“I’m about to run then,” Edwards joked. “Um, what was I saying? I can’t remember what I was saying…”
The pre-fight distractions had only just begun for ‘Rocky’ as he continued taking questions from the media.
‘I feel like Belal did that’ … Leon Edwards cracks joke on pre-fight distractions
Minutes after the first alarm had sounded, Edwards was visibly shocked as the lights went off and a alarm sounded over and over again.
“The emergency situation has been identified. We request to evacuate the hotel using the nearest sign escape route
“OK,” Edwards got out of his seat for a few second, being told it was another alarm test.
After a few minutes, media day was back to normal with Edwards joking about who was behind the fire alarm going off… his former foe Belal Muhammad.
“I feel like Belal did that,” Edwards said with a chuckle.
Despite the circumstances in his last fight against rival Belal Muhammad, the timing of it all and injuries he mentioned having, Leon Edwards maintains he’s A-OK heading into the UFC London main event, clearing up health concerns on Thursday.
