Joe Rogan is struggling to come to terms with the rise of slap fighting.
Slap fighting is a relatively new combat sport where competitors take turns delivering full-force, open-handed strikes to each other’s faces, without any defense or headgear allowed.
Dana White recently celebrated striking one of the best deals ‘in the history of sports’ for Power Slap.
The UFC boss launched a slap fighting league in 2022, but he’s yet to host Joe Rogan at one of his shows.

Joe Rogan shares his thoughts on slap fighting
Last week, Conor McGregor excited fans by teasing an appearance on Joe Rogan’s famous podcast, which has hosted countless MMA athletes as well as A-list celebrities, politicians, and tech billionaires like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
The legendary UFC commentator recently invited retired wide receiver Antonio Brown, who played 12 seasons in the NFL, onto his show.
Somehow, the conversation got around to slap fighting, and it became clear Rogan finds the sport totally ridiculous.
“Dudes are getting just knocked into another dimension with a slap,” he said.
“It’s so crazy to watch. I just don’t understand why people are signing up for that because the thing about fighting is you’re trying to not get hit.
“Like, if punches are coming, you’re trying to turn away. You’re trying to move, you’re moving your head off-center line. If you’re slapping, you’re one hundred percent going to get hit. You just have to sit there and take it.
“Dana White keeps trying to get me to come see. I’m like, ‘Okay, I’ll go. I’ll go to one of these.’ But it’s just so nuts.”
Dana White enters the boxing business
As if he wasn’t busy enough with the UFC and Power Slap, Dana White has entered another sport.
The MMA mogul recently revealed he is set to launch a new boxing league with Turki Alalshikh.
White’s transition to boxing hasn’t been welcomed by everyone. Former world champion Paulie Malignaggi branded the UFC CEO a ‘pig’ and publicly questioned Alalshikh’s decision to do business with him.
Top promoter Eddie Hearn, who previously had a friendly relationship with White, warned his new rival to ‘sleep with one eye open’ after news of the revolutionary boxing league broke.
“Boxing is the worst business in the world,” Hearn told Fight Hype.
“I hope these guys have got the appetite to be up all f—— night and sleep with one eye open every single day. Because you’re not going to get control where you can go to bed at 10pm and wake up at 8am and expect the industry and your situation to be exactly the same.
“It doesn’t work like that. Every f—– is out there hustling every single day. Guess what? I’m one of them.”
